[mod squad] part of the furniture Posts: 891 01-21-07 1:10 AM	Tags : profile, skin, critique, opinion http://favafoyo.u.yuku.com/ what should I do for the headers? currently they are just plain color, but I think that looks a little... plain. can anyone think of anything that might look good there? (a design, or something?) comments and critiques on the rest of the design are very much welcomed as well. (does the boxbody opacity slow anyone down very much? I was considering seeing if setting the background to 'scroll' would work better, but I am definitely not getting rid of the opacity all together!) and finally - names? so far I have 'starfield'. can anyone think of anything better?

part of the furniture Posts: 429 01-22-07 2:25 PM	I like it how it is Fava :D. It is not really slow. What I see when I open it is everything grey for about 5 seconds. Then the background drops in. :D Very sharp. I noticed that lag on Alf's too, except his is longer. He also has the opacity thing going on. :D. I just looked on IE7, there the boxes stay black. Which also looks nice.

It bugs me when it constantly has to refresh and makes everything jump around when you scroll, but I really like how it looks when you stop. IE7 does not support opacity? that is... incredibly irritating.

Look here: http://www.domedia.org/oveklykken/css-transparency.php On that page the guy shows you what to add for Mozilla, IE and Safari. I have read you don't need the "moz" anymore and I see you don't have it so it must be so :D. But I think you have to add the alpha filter for IE to this piece of your code: .boxbody { background-color: #03090C; border-top: 4px solid #000202; border-right: 4px solid #000202; border-bottom: 4px solid #000202; border-left: 4px solid #000202; opacity: .7; padding: 6px; }

[mod squad] part of the furniture Posts: 891 01-24-07 9:14 PM	thanks chris! I'm glad to know it works for multiple people :D alison- thanks and I'm not sure what you mean about word spacing. I manually took the spaces out from between my words in the "edit block" area, it's not a part of the css.

And that's pretty wide letter spacing. I find a little extra word spacing helps balance things too. I like the way it looks. ://fullstop
